He made the point that although they have to use Algonquin Avenue, they have no control over it; the ' abutters have control over the road, and would be responsible for any improvements/betterments. The point was made by members of the public that the plan to assess the abutters for road reconstruction, which road is considered to be a central access road to approximately one hundred fifty (15 0) homes, i s unfair. Janet Hubbard, Shorewood Drive, who asked whether or not Southport was an abutter to Algonquin Avenue, and if they would be required to contribute to the cost. :a Clarification was made that Southport had been included in the calculation determining the Thirty-Five Hundred ($8, 500 . 00) Dollar amount per abutter, as previously mentioned. l:f Dennis Balzarini asked the Chairman what, if any, recommendations Mr. Taylor has made. The chairman stated nothing i f i specific had been discussed other than the fact that Mr. Taylor had a conflict with the Planning Board Meeting, and that he would ' make every effort to attend at some point. ; The chairman determined the Board was free to discuss the matter, although he would prefer to take no action at this point, as Mr. Taylor has not had an opportunity to resent his in pp y p put. i Fames Dorgan informed the Board of recent action taken by the Board of Selectmen to withdraw the plans for road taking. r The chairman suggested this issue would not be resolved at this Meeting; and that the technicality of obtaining g Plannin - Board signatures is the matter before the Board at this time. He also determined the Planning Board would eventually make a recommendation through the Town Meeting process. I `it The Planning Board then discussed and make references to , "Compiled Road Easement Taking Plan, Mashpee Shores Subdivision, p� ! in Mashpee, Mai, dated July 28, 1998110 Mr. Rowley informed the Board of and indicated an area with drainage problems. { , F With reference to the Ashers Heights Subdivision, Mr. Rowley reported on his review of the file, noting a letter received from a homeowner, Mr. Collins, dated July 1, 1998, in which he cites ` drainage complaints/problems at the corner of Carlton and Butler. Mr. Rowley suggested an inspection be made in order to determine any existing problems prior to a release in full being granted. Board Members were in agreement, the Chairman requested Mr. Rowley make the inspection. Mr. Rowley noted the security has -7- !
