'�r <br /> Mr. Fudala addressed the issue of Town meeting/Cape Cod ;4 <br /> 1{ <br /> Commission certification process. He mentioned explanations <br /> would have to be provided as to why Mashpee is not consistent . A# <br /> with, the Regional Policy Plan. He further addressed the issue of <br /> consistency review. <br /> Mr. Fudala address the matter of October Town Meeting, and <br /> suggested presenting the Plan, as recommended by the Planning <br /> Board, adopt the comprehensive Plan (under both the Cape Cod s <br /> ' i <br /> Commission Act and Chapter 41) , and then submit t to the Cape <br /> Cod Coammi s s i on f or their review. If there are to be any changes ¢t` <br /> at this point, an amendment to the Plan could be made through the ` <br /> Town Meeting process . (There was lengthy discussion as to the , <br /> best time to present this matter at Town Meeting (Fall, Spring or <br /> Special] recognizing the issue of public input for #} <br /> consideration. ) <br /> The vice Chairman questioned the wisdom of submitting an <br /> incomplete Plan at the Town Meeting in October in order to meet a <br /> deadline and further asking the Town for a vote. He suggested <br /> sufficient time for public review with full copies available _ <br /> be provided, as well as newspaper coverage and extended joint PA . <br /> meetings (Economic Development Committee, Business Community and { <br /> Chamber of Commerce) in order to obtain as much support as <br /> possible. He also expressed a concern for the Land Use/Growth ;rl L <br /> Management Element. Eric Smith agreed this is an important <br /> Element. (There was some discussion regarding the Mashpee <br /> Commons proposal, zoning change or current bylaw and DRI <br /> y � � <br /> guidelines on open space. ;} f <br /> t, <br /> Mr. Fudala expressed concern regarding the length of time <br /> and amount of research expended for this project to date and the <br /> fact that some of the data used in its preparation is already <br /> out-dated. <br /> After lengthy discussion, the vice chairman informed, the <br /> } <br /> Board that based upon a meeting with Mr. Whritenour, there would , <br /> be no problem with the Planning Board presenting the Plan at the <br /> Spring Town Meeting, provided all Planning Department work is <br /> completed. <br /> Mr. Fudala was in agreement, stating his intent to attend a = l <br /> a a <br /> Selectmen' s Meeting in order to provide them with a status of <br /> the <br /> Plan.
