Mashpee Zoning
Board of Appeals Minutes
• 4 March 12, 2008
hours reviewing this plan. The Fire Department prefers this set up with 4
separate buildings than one large one. The board and Attorney Garner discuss
the entrance of the building and the layout in general. There will be a 10 foot
buffer with a chain fence totally 20 feet after the fact. The Board discussed the
fact that the Building Inspector holds the right to enforce what may go into the
site and will be sent to the ZBA in the future if further specific permits are
necessary. Jonathan Furbush asks about any light spill from the property for
abutters. Applicant says there is nothing major, one above the door just
enough to get to your car.
Maria Pietrzak of 28 Sugar Pine Circle addresses the Board. She is very much
opposed to this building being built. She feels its too much for the area and will
de -value her property and that it will impact her daily view. Seth Zarum of
Sugar Pine Circle also feels the buildings will be right in their backyard and will
slowly but surely turn into a junkyard. Dick Bovden of Sugar Pine Circle feels
the buffer zone is not enough. There will be pavement that will abut his
property and he is not in favor of that. He wants the buffer zone increased to 30
feet and add better plantings.
There will be 18 evergreens and this will be substantial enough.
The Board discusses parking — there are 24 spots provided, 4 of which will be for
handicapped parking.
Bob Nelson mentions that this is an industrial zoned area and the applicant has
worked hard to present a nice building package to the Plan Review and Design
Review and ultimately to the residential abutters., Applicant has the right to build
this building. After some further review of the plans, Jonathan Furbush makes a
motion to grant the special permit. Robert Nelson seconds the motion. All agree.
So moved. Reference plans from
Baxter, Nye Engineering & Surveying of Hyannis, MA, dated November 26, 2007,
revised December 28, 2007 and revised January 18, 2008 and building plans
from Star Building Systems of Oklahoma City, OK, dated October 23, 2007,
revised January 25, 2008 and revised February 8, 2008.
OTHER BUSINESS:
Robert Nelson, moves to accept the minutes of February 13, 2008. Jonathan Furbush
seconds the motion. All agree. So moved.
Jonathan Furbush makes a motion to adjourn the hearing. James Reiffarth seconds the
motion. All agree.
Hearing is adjourned at 9:40 pm.
0
