Mashpee Zoning
Board of Appeals Richard Dyer
2 SP-08-56
Cabinetry work to be allowed to operate in one of Mr. Dyer's units. Mr.
Dyer gives the Board an overview of his plans for the building. Most of the
building is currently being used as a church. The other units he is trying to
lease —thus the request for Mr. Robinson. Mr. Robinson is seeking the
permit to use the unit to assemble pre-made cabinets. There will be minimal
cutting and he will be the only employee on site. There will be no flammable
materials stored on site. The glue product Mr. Furbush questions the
applicant of is non-flammable. Additionally, the building does not have
sprinklers. Mr. Dyer also mentions there are separate electric meters on
premises. The parking is the problem at issue here and Mr. Nelson
addresses his concerns with Mr. Dyer. Mr. Nelson retrieved the original
parking plan in the Building Departments files. The Board wants to see the
parking below and out in the back, away from the front entrance. Mr. Dyer
agrees to put "no parking" signs wherever the board would like. Mr. Nelson
doesn't want any overnight parking and does want the restrictions put into
place. There is a landscaping company leasing one of the units, however
they have not filed with the ZBA yet. Although that will cause its own
parking issues, Mr. Nelson advises the Board to concentrate on what is in
front of them tonight. The Board discusses several options of parking and
the restrictions that must be put into place. They agree to have 2 parking
spots allocated on the south-wall, the retaining wall. James Reiffarth snakes
a motion to grant the special Permit.
SPECIAL PERMIT CRITERIA
Section 9 of Chapter 40A requires that the permit granting authority
determine that the proposed use and development are consistent with
applicable law, rules and regulations; that there will be no adverse effect on
