Meetinghouse Hill
Page four
building setback requirements of the Mashpee Zoning By-Law and the
project proposal. Actual lot areas and dimensions are shown on Sheet 1
of 4.
Sheet 4 of 4 Utilities
1. This plan shows the proposed location of all underground utilities
including water, electric lines, cable TV, and telephone. The roadway
cross section indicates the location for possible gas service but the plan
view does not show any. Is gas service available and is it to be installed?
2. A note on the sheet indicates that the water line is subject to materials
and installation specifications in conformance with standards of the
Mashpee Water District. It is recommended that the placement of the fire
hydrant at the end of the line near Lot 6 be approved by the Mashpee
Fire/Rescue Department.
Sheet 1 of 1 Supplemental Information, Proposed Drainage Component Details
1. Deep Sump Catch Basin Detail - Is inconsistent with similar detail found
on Sheet 2 of 4. The pipe elbow should extend below the flow line of the
pipe 12". Label the structure as having H-20 design strength. It is not
recommended that a single concrete curb inlet be used where Cape Cod
Berm is proposed for the remainder of the roadway. The berm should
extend behind the basin grate. Label the concrete collar as 12" x 12"
extending to the top of the binder course of pavement surface.
2. A note on the plan says that the infiltration system near Meeting House
Road is to be sized based on soil conditions. No test results are shown
on the plans. How will the size of the drainage easement be affected if
the sizing should change? How might this affect the large catalpa tree :.
that appears to the left of the drainage easement on Lot 12? It is
assumed that the intent is to save the tree from possible damage or
removal.
Sheet 1 of 1 Supplemental Information Road Plan and Profile
1. There is a duplication of information on this sheet as well. It would be
best to consolidate the details into one sheet to avoid confusion and
possible discrepancies in detail information.
2. The road profile shown on this sheet is done at an exaggerated scale. k`
This is a normal engineering practice and is done for clarity. The
proposed road profile is in conformance with accepted practice and fits
the general requirements for grade of dead end streets in accordance
with the Mashpee Planning Board Rules and Regulations.
3. A cut of approximately 6 feet is required in order to maintain the proper
slope of the road profile and the side slopes of road shoulders. The
maximum side slopes to be maintained should be 2:1 and should be
noted on the plans.
j
Drainage Calculations
The drainage calculations have been completed to design the size of the
drainage pipes in the collection system for the 10 year and 25 year storm. The
calculations take into consideration areas of natural cover, impervious cover such as
roofs, driveways and road surfaces, and grass areas such as road shoulders. Runoff
coefficients are slightly lower than those required by the Mashpee Subdivision Rules and
Regulations, however the pipe sizes are more than adequate for the slight increase in
runoff that would result from a recalculation using the Mashpee coefficients.
