I� <br /> By-laws to allow for alterations and changes to a non-conforming structure on property <br /> located in an R-5 zoning district at 30 Baker's Road (Map 20 Parcel 5)Mashpee, MA. <br /> Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts General <br /> i <br /> Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, <br /> a newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee, on October 26 and j <br /> November 2, 2001, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> A Public Hearing was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall on <br /> Wednesday, November 14, 2001, at which time the following members of the Zoning <br /> Board of Appeals were present and acting throughout: James E. Regan III, Robert G. <br /> Nelson and Zella E. Elizenberry. <br /> The Mashpee Zoning Board of Appeals issues this Decision pursuant to the <br /> provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40A Section 9 and the Town of <br /> Mashpee Zoning By-laws. <br /> i i• <br /> Attorney Kevin M. Kirrane represented the Petitioner, who illegally made <br /> extensive renovations to an existing residential structure without obtaining a building <br /> permit. The Petitioner is now seeking to legitimize the renovations that were made to the <br /> subject structure. Attorney Kirrane stated that the Building Commissioner has been I i <br /> provided with architectural and engineer statements verifying that the subject structure <br /> I <br /> conforms to all the requirements of the building code. <br /> � t <br /> The Board expressed doubt that the Petitioner was unaware of the need to obtain a i <br /> building permit before making renovations to a dwelling. k <br /> it <br /> Ms. Arden Cadrin, an abutter at 32 Sturgis Lane, questioned why the Petitioner j <br /> was seeking relief from the Zoning Board of Appeals at this time.
