He mentioned the importance <br /> of the DARE Program and his wish that it be continued. He <br /> mentioned that the Police, Fire and Civil Defense components <br /> of the Town involved with natural disasters is also labor <br /> , ► _, U intensive. He addressed his question to Chief <br /> Przybylek regarding the proposal for additional officers and <br />,�" ''►.:w,ni<,s cruisers by the year 2004. He asked if this would allow the <br /> Town to go to a three year leasing program for cruisers. <br /> Chief Przybylek answered that he would prefer to remain with <br /> the two year plan for marked cruisers. The number of cruisers <br /> '�1►'""{°sill increase proportionately to the number of new officers. The <br /> i' �� y <br /> °'� ^ "�ili milage placed on those cruisers will remain relatively the same. <br /> I „^' ,l'b,, He maintained that the Department should continue the two year <br /> q i% �,�`� t program for marked cruisers; and four years on unmarked cruisers. <br /> Mr. Bacigalupa was recognized by the Chairman to further <br /> 4 ,rL inquire about pay increases for personnel for School, Police, <br /> Fire and DPW Departments. Because of Proposition 2 1/2 said <br /> a 11 Departments have to reduce their operational budgets in order to <br /> ill =y I'�;;,' maintain salary lines.
