The Chairman inquired as to the status of Board of Health <br />filing and report. Mr. Ferreira agreed to file a Plan with Board <br />of Health. <br />The Chairman addressed a procedural issue, raised by the <br />Town Planner, regarding a subdivision of land shown on the Plan <br />which Applicant does not own. The Board agreed some form of <br />acknowledgement be required before any further action is taken in <br />this matter. (Amending the Application by signature or separate <br />document.) <br />The Chairman suggested Mr. Ferreira address the engineering <br />issues as discussed, submit new prints for approval and file with <br />Board of Health within the two -week continuation period. <br />Mr. Ferreira suggested he submit in writing to the Planning <br />Department a request for a thirty -day extension on the <br />Preliminary matter. <br />To which the Planning Board agreed, in addition to <br />scheduling a continuance for a two -week period. The Chairman <br />entertained a motion to continue. <br />MOTION: Patrick Coffey made a Motion to continue this <br />matter to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 1996; which Motion <br />was seconded by Dennis Balzarini and so voted unanimously. <br />(The Preliminary Plan -Ferreira Associates/Jean P. Canning, <br />Tr., Pine Tree Mall was thereupon concluded at 7:00 p.m.) <br />Public Hearing <br />Local Comprehensive Plan -Draft Open Space, Recreation and <br />Wetlands, Wildlife and Plant Habitat Elements <br />The Chairman recognized Thomas Fudala, Town Planner for the <br />purpose of presenting the above mentioned Elements. <br />Mr. Fudala clarified this was not a legally noticed official <br />public hearing, but rather a public meeting in order to obtain <br />public input. <br />Town of Mashpee Comprehensive Plan -Open Space, Recreation <br />& Agriculture, Wetlands/Wildlife and Plant Habitat-9/96 Summary: <br />Some of the elements of this Plan have previously been reviewed <br />and adopted by the Board, mainly Open Space Goals and Objectives. <br />The Open Space, Recreation & Agriculture Element focuses on <br />preserving open space in order to protect water quality for <br />public water supplies and specific water bodies of bays, rivers, <br />ponds and the protection of wildlife and native species habitat. <br />The Recreation Plan addresses active recreation facilities. The <br />Agriculture Plan deals with the preservation of agricultural land <br />and activities (mainly cranberry bogs). <br />-3- <br />
