Mr. Fudala responded that this has not yet <br /> ►tt!� been determined. <br /> tT <br /> " <br /> (Martine Meijering, Clerk, arrived at the Meeting at this <br /> iA '�� point-7:35 p.m. ) <br /> 1 4' <br /> � The Chairman having determined there were no further <br />' ' �'' t'► questions from Board Members, presented a letter received from <br /> the School Superintendent on behalf of the School Committee, <br /> 'y <br /> addressed to Thomas Fudala, stating that on December 4th the <br /> r` �Ih School Committee endorsed the School Facility section of the <br /> Comprehensive Plan and complimented the Planning Department for <br /> its thoroughness and professional presentation, signed Lincoln <br /> DeMoura. <br /> The Chairman then opened the Meeting to the public for <br /> questions and/or comments and recognized Ed Baker. Mr. Baker <br /> I " requested the number of classrooms for each school be included <br /> in the report; and questioned projection figures. Mr. Fudala <br /> answered the number of classrooms are included in the full report <br /> (30-Coombs and 45-Middle School) ; and that projection figures <br /> ' consist of a combination of existing student population and <br /> projected new growth. <br /> There being no further comments from the public, the School <br /> irk Facilities Summary portion of the Meeting concluded at 7:40 p.m. <br /> The Chairman recognized Eric Smith, Assistant Town Planner, for <br /> the purpose of presenting the Coastal Resources Element of the <br /> I � Comprehensive Plan. <br /> Eric Smith stated that he is in receipt of a full set of <br /> comments from waterways, Shellfish Commission, as well as from <br /> private citizens. Coastal Resources include water resources, <br /> wetland and plant habitat. He did not address Goals and <br /> objectives as they have been previously presented and approved by <br /> the Planning Board (July-1995) . Reference was made to the <br /> Ntiw ; Inventory section (pg. 1) , of the Coastal Resources Summary Draft <br /> 1 and FEMA A and V Flood Zones Maps, copies of which are attached <br /> and filed herewith as part of the official record. The Town has <br /> a set of flood lands regulations that primarily concentrate on <br /> 1 the V Zones. Homeowners within these zones are now required to <br /> purchase a flood insurance. Properties within these zones are <br /> n affected by Federal and State regulations. Massachusetts Coastal <br /> � � " zone Management (CZM) have issued a set of Guidelines as well. <br /> All regulations are to be studied further. The National Flood <br /> Insurance Program's Community Rating System is recommended as <br /> there could be direct benefits to property owners by decreasing <br /> insurance costs. <br /> Map 2-Barrier Beaches, Dunes and Eroding Coastal Banks. <br /> Dead Neck area, Popponesset Spit, Dean' s Pond and a conservation <br /> c� r causeway. <br /> Maps 3-10-Shellfish Resource Areas. Quahogs, Soft Shell <br /> Clams and Bay Scallops. Also found are oysters, mussels, conch, <br /> -4- <br /> � j�5 <br />
