13 <br />Mashpee Select Board <br />Minutes <br />July 11, 2022 <br />APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br />Discussion and Possible Al r royal of Appointment ofwone of theFollowinr to thewAffordable Housing Committee: <br />Meredith Kilpatrick mArden.Russell Gam Shuman: (continued) <br />Former Housing. Coordinator in the Town of Barnstable Arden Russell reviewed her extensive qualifications for <br />membership to the Affordable Housing Committee. Ms. Russell, a thirty-year resident of the Town of Mashpee <br />offered her experience in addressing the housing crisis by offering her work history expertise. <br />Discussion followed with respect to the two candidates slated for appointment to fill one vacancy. <br />Motion made by Selectman Sherman to support the recommendation of the Affordable Housing Committee <br />to appoint Gary Shuman for membership for a term to be determined. <br />Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br />VOTE: 3-2. Motion carries. <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />Selectman Gottlieb, no <br />Selectman O'Hara, yes <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Selectman Weeden, no Selectman Cotton, yes <br />Selectman Sherman, yes Opposed, (2) <br />Discussion of A Benda Topics for the Joint Meetingwith the Masee Wampanoa,_Tribe on <br />MondaY.mmJuL 18, 2022„ <br />Topics of discussion at the joint meeting of the Select Board and Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Council include the <br />discussion and potential for the Town's utilization of excess wastewater treatment capacity on Meetinghouse Road <br />and opportunities to collaborate funding for wastewater, and shellfish mitigation. <br />Other items include access to infrastructure funds, and partnering in land acquisition as well as collaborations on <br />clean water. <br />The reaffirmation of the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA). <br />Collaborative on climate adaptation initiatives and coastal resiliency issues. <br />Boats on Mashpee/Wakeby that may be contributing to cyan bacteria. <br />Ongoing Tribal member issues. <br />The agenda will be finalized at the end of the week to conform to posting requirements. <br />
