16 Great Neck Road.North
JIashpee, Aassachusetts 02649
Mr. Hansen thinks the bylaw would enhance the town. He would suggest under the special permits for
Southport, when phase one and two were done it was all clear cut. Conservation said if you want phase
three there are going to be some rules. You take any tree down that exists in the footprint or 10 ft. away
from a foundation has to be kept of identified as a candidate to be taken with some permission from the
Tree Warden.
Mr. Balzarini commented when that happened he went out there all the time. The trees were marked.
They had a problem with that 10 ft. rude. After a couple storms those trees went through people's
houses and were almost injured.
CHAIRMANS REPORT
Meeting with EDIC July 26, 2022 at 6:00p.m. regarding redevelopment opportunities in Mashpee
TOWN PLANNER REPORT
Update on Popponesset Overlay District
Mr. Lehrer reached out to see if they would give an abbreviated presentation relative to what the Board
discussed, along with the Conservation Agent, to identify and elaborate current issues. They have
agreed and he will propose the first meeting in August.
Community Preservation Applications
Mr. Lehrer submitted an application with Conservation for the acquisition of 702 Main St. for the 8 acres
adjacent to the Pickerel Cove conservation area. He facilitated a preliminary meeting with the owners of
the 17 acres on Wakeby. They had verbal conversations but now need to sit down with Conservation
and community partners. There is less urgency regarding the 17 acres as they are committed to
preserving that acreage for the town. The email went out today.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Lynne Barbee- She is hoping Alex will be at the workshop on Saturday. She would urge the Planning
Board to write him a letter of appreciation, give him some recognition, and include a letter he can have
for his own files when he is job searching. It has been wonderful to have him and he worked really hard.
Lastly, the Human Services Committee had a really good meeting with Mr. Lehrer talking about the
2012 review and the Committee thought that was a very useful presentation.
BOARD MEMBER COMMITTEE REPORTS
Cape Cod Commission -
Community Preservation Committee -
Design Review -
Plan Review -
Environmental Oversight Committee -
Regional Planning event called One Cape- August
15t + 2"d It does fill up, so sign up.
Waiting to hear that the application has been
received so the Chair can convene a meeting.
Meeting Canceled
No Meeting
No Meeting
21
