16 Great Neck Road North
Mashyee, Massachusetts 02649
Mr. Balzarini stated one of the basins has a tree growing through it. He checks on the one by the corner
all the time.
Mr. Lehrer received a call from a neighbor who had some flooding in his driveway. It remains to be
seen if the failed catch basins are the primary culprit in regard to the water build up on that man's side
of the street. He will discuss that with Mr. Pesce tomorrow. He can provide an update at the next
meeting so that project will remain on track.
Ms. Waygan would like to keep this item on the agenda, if Mr. Pesce cannot attend the next meeting he
can provide a written report. She asked for Public Comment on this matter.
OLD BUSINESS
Local Comprehensive Plan Updates with Weston & Sampson
Comments on Existing Conditions: Natural Resources, Open Space and Recreation, and Land
Use and Growth Management
Ms. Waygan stated there are three chapters listed here: Natural Resources, Land Use and Growth
Management, and Open Space and Recreation. She does not have any comments at this time.
Mr. Lehrer noted these are the last three chapters, and these can be kept on the agenda.
Mr. Fulone asked if there was any way to get more current information than 2005 under Land Use and
Growth Management. He is referring to the land use over time on page two, table 5-1, it's a time series.
Mr. Lehrer stated the land use comparisons utilize state classification codes to draw comparisons over
extended periods of time to show how land use patterns have changed. The state recently reclassified
the entire process in the past couple years, so none of the class codes today match up with previously
existing codes. Weston & Sampson did ask the assessor for all historical records for accuracy.
Mr. Balzarini asked about the water on page two in that grid. He was curious if that were lakes or ponds
and how can we have more? He also noted there was more commercial space in 1999 than 2005.
Ms. Waygan asked if table 5-1, land use over time, is for water protection.
Mr. Lehrer commented that anything within the town bounds that is filled with water. If clarity is needed
in some areas, we can define it.
Ms. Waygan stated they will leave these three items on the agenda.
Assessments of the 1998 Chapters on Energy + Municipal Buildings and Facilities
Mr. Lehrer met with the DPW Director and sent comments and questions to other stakeholders and
other Department Heads to round out the information.
4
