16 Great Neck Road North
Mashpee, -Massachusetts 02649
CHAIRMANS REPORT
Mr. Lehrer is getting ready for the Select Board meeting on September 12, 2022. Ms. Waygan
will work with the Vice Chair and Town Planner on preparing for that.
TOWN PLANNER REPORT
Mr. Lehrer has nothing further to say except to thank the Board for their commitment and time.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Joe Binette- He is intrigued with what Mr. Lehrer was talking about, and is curious if that has
something to do with mitigation plantings and stormwater runoff. He wants to know what was
just being discussed about low impact development. He asked if the two were linked.
Mr. Lehrer stated it is related, but in a conservation sense, if it's disturbed it must be replaced
by upholding design standards. What they are trying to accomplish for storm water
management, not mitigation, is directing stormwater towards vegetated or grass areas so
nutrients are taken up and filtered through organic materials in sand before it hits the
groundwater or nearby waterbodies. It helps with err:;ion control and stormwater runoff. For
any zoning article submitted by this Board per the Ma Zoning Act, they are required to hold a
Public Hearing and make recommendations to Town Meeting. The Planning Board will need to
advertise a Public Hearing at least two weeks prior in the newspaper and postings at Town
Hall. At that Public Hearing the Board will take all comments, deliberate, and close the Public
Hearing and make a recommendation to Town Meeting to either recommend for approval, not
approve, or take no action.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Cape Cod Commission —
Community Preservation Committee -
Design Review -
Plan Review -
Environmental Oversight Committee -
Historic District Commission -
Harbor Management Plan Committee -
No Report
Met last week and voted to have an appraisal
done of the 8 acres at 751 Route 130. They
also have a Public Hearing on October 6,
2022.
No Meeting
No Meeting
No Meeting
Meeting tomorrow September 8, 2022 at
8:30a.m.
No Meeting
8
