16 Great Neck Road North
Nashpee, Nassachusetts 02649
Ms. Waygan thinks it would be a great use of funds to have Weston & Sampson run the entire
Zoom and facilitate the breakout rooms.
Affordable and Workforce Housing
Coordination with the Affordable Housing Committee
Ms. Waygan attended the meeting of the Mashpee Affordable Housing Committee last week.
She sent the committee an e-mail in early June asking how they wanted to coordinate efforts
to create affordable and workforce housing in town, as well as their comments on the LCP
chapter of existing conditions. Their meeting minutes from April has all of their comments. The
Chair of the Affordable Housing Committee is continuing to work on the existing conditions
section. She asked for it to be sent in a timely manner as the Planning Board is ready to move
forward from the existing conditions. She will try to go to all the meetings and invited other
Board members to attend. She let the AHC know there will be an ADU workshop being held
sometime in October.
ADU Workshop
Ms. Waygan let the Affordable Housing Committee know that the Planning Board would be
doing a workshop on the ADU Bylaw sometime in October. The Affordable Housing Committee
has a date set for 10/18/2022, and someone from Community Development Partnership will be
presenting their ADU program. She would like to coordinate with the Town Planner, HAC, and
the Building Commissioner for people who want to discuss their own properties, they can come
and ask questions and get a head start.
Ms. Waygan asked for Public Comment on this matter. None at this time.
Clean Water Initiative
Ms. Waygan commented the Select Board meeting had a great presentation by the DNR
Director, Ashley Fisher. That meeting was recorded on Mashpee TV. At the end of the meeting
the Town Manager asked Ms. Fisher what else can be done to help and she noted bylaws.
The presentation was great in getting motivated to get our waters clean. Mr. Collins convened
a meeting this Monday with different department heads and he mentioned Planning. Ms.
Faulkner and Ms. Waygan attended. There is something in the packet that was her notes to
that working group. She thought it was important for her to attend because Ms. Faulkner and
Mr. Lehrer are working on a Tree Bylaw. They weren't ready to submit for July, but they might
be able to squeeze some in on the October Warrant. She will hand it over to Mr. Lehrer of what
could be submitted for inclusion on October Warrant.
13
