5 <br />Mashpee Select Board <br />Minutes <br />May 15, 2023 <br />APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br />DPW Director: Catherine Laurent: <br />Discussion and Aroyal vo f Chang e to Transfer Station Schedule <br />Catherine Laurent, Director of Public Works recommended the Select Board change the Transfer Station <br />Schedule as follows; <br />OPEN — Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday <br />CLOSED — Monday and Tuesday <br />The recommended change was requested by the Transfer Station operator Gotta Do Contracting to address <br />the issues with the tipping of recyclables without impacting access to the Transfer Station by the public. <br />The Transfer Station is currently closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The facilities used by the Town for <br />tipping have reduced the days of acceptance for certain recyclables. Mondays tend to have a low traffic <br />volume there are 6 Monday holidays on the calendar. <br />Motion made by Selectman Sherman to amend the Transfer Station Schedule as recommended <br />effective July 1, 2023. <br />Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara <br />VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes <br />Selectman Sherman, yes Selectman Wyman -Colombo, yes Opposed, none <br />Discussion and_Approyal of Transfer Station Sticker Fees,: <br />It is recommended the Select Board maintain/increase the level of funding of the Transfer Station by its <br />user by increasing the Pt household sticker fee to $220 and the recycling sticker fee to $40. This would co - <br />inside with the goal of the Select Board to maintain stability. With similar sales and revenues, the <br />proposed fee increase will fund 100% of the Transfer Station operation. <br />The current 1" household sticker fee is $205. The current recycling sticker fee is $35. <br />Motion made by Selectman O'Hara to approve the amended Transfer Station Sticker Fee increases <br />as referenced effective June 1, 2023. <br />Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br />VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes <br />Selectman Sherman, yes Selectman Wyman -Colombo, yes Opposed, none <br />FY24 stickers are available for purchase on June 1, 2023. A new Guides to the Transfer Station pamphlet <br />will be printed for distribution and the new fee structure will be posted on the Town's website. <br />
