During the fiscal <br />year 2019, there were a total of 26 homeroom classes <br />representing six homerooms in Grades 3 and 4 with <br />seven homerooms in Grades 5 and 6. The average <br />student to teacher ratio is 19:1. The faculty was forty- <br />four teachers strong, consisting of both regular <br />education teachers and special education teachers. <br />Other professional staff included two adjustment <br />counselors, one guidance counselor, one part-time <br />physical therapist, one part-time occupational therapist, <br />1.5 speech and language therapists, and one school <br />psychologist. Quashnet School also values a team of <br />ten paraprofessionals. Together, we all work toward <br />one goal which is to provide students with a strong <br />educational foundation which builds on students' <br />primary instruction and prepares students for the <br />academic opportunities of Mashpee Middle -High <br />School. At Quashnet School we educate the whole <br />child by supporting academic achievement, social and <br />emotional growth, and by fostering civic responsibility <br />in all students. <br />AMulti-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) is the <br />instructional framework followed at the Quashnet <br />School. We monitor student success by establishing <br />student goals and regularly conducting progress <br />monitoring opportunities. Instruction is targeted and <br />designed to meet students' individual needs. Each <br />student participates in a What I Need (WIN) block for <br />literacy instruction. WIN blocks are designed to work <br />with a homogeneous flexible grouping of students who <br />are working on the same targeted skill which includes <br />remediation and enrichment tasks. In an MTSS model, <br />all students receive targeted instruction based on their <br />needs. Students who have not made the desired <br />progress benefit from intensified instruction from a <br />highly qualified staff member. Students performing <br />above grade level will work at their instructional level. <br />The program is designed to meet the needs of each <br />individual student. <br />The Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks are <br />the basis for all curricula at the Quashnet School. <br />Everyday Math 4th Edition is the primary tool for <br />mathematics education. Lessons are broken down into <br />three parts to help meet the needs of all students. <br />Teachers introduce the lesson with whole class <br />
