Individual accomplishments include senior boys <br />soccer goalie Chris Hutchenrider being selected as an <br />EMass All -Star and winning the South Player of the <br />Game as a goalie in that game. Sophomore Colin <br />Spender was selected as the Boston Globe and Boston <br />Herald All -Scholastic in golf. Mashpee senior <br />running back/safety Devaun Ford was named the 2018 <br />South Shore League Tobin Football Player of the Year <br />as well as being named the Boston Globe Division VII <br />Player of the Year. Ford and senior Xavier Gonsalves <br />were named Boston Herald All -Scholastics in <br />football. Girls basketball qualified for the MIAA state <br />tournament for the first time in ten years as junior <br />Ashley Keleher became the programs career scoring <br />leader. <br />Community outreach was also a focal point of the <br />2018-2019 school year. MMHS hosted several <br />outside groups and organizations at the school and <br />provided tours, information and demonstrations. <br />Groups include the Mashpee Men's Club, the <br />Southport Falcons, Falcon Friends, the Mashpee <br />Chamber of Commerce and several local business <br />owners and professionals supported student projects <br />and school initiatives. The Mashpee Commons very <br />graciously continued its partnership with the Mashpee <br />Public Schools to create an MPS outreach site, the <br />#WeAreMashpee store in the Commons. This <br />collaborative opportunity has helped to share the great <br />things happening within our school and provides retail <br />products as well as exhibits and demonstrations of <br />student work. The Mashpee Community has been <br />extremely supportive of our school as evidenced by <br />the strong turnout for our annual Credit for Life Fair <br />and the countless volunteers to present in classrooms <br />and to provide support for our students and staff. <br />MMHS also hosted the fourth annual Cape Cod Mini - <br />Maker Faire which had a great showing and was <br />heavily attended. Another great culmination of our <br />connected community was with our annual <br />Scholarship Night. Our graduates received over <br />$150,000 in scholarships, all generously provided by <br />our amazing community. <br />Lastly, we had several teachers receive recognition for <br />their outstanding work. MMHS Technology Teacher <br />Amanda Hough was named the ITEAA STEM <br />Teacher of the Year. This award is given annually to <br />teachers who are innovative in the field of STEM <br />Education.
