When they are restored and bound they would <br />be filed in the Town Clerk's climate controlled vault. <br />Documents in this phase include valuations from the <br />early 1900's, personal property valuations, tax records <br />and tax listings. <br />The Community Preservation Committee <br />recommends approval of Article 11 by a vote of 7-0. <br />The Board of Selectmen recommends approval of <br />Article 11 by a vote of 4-0. <br />The Finance Committee recommends approval of <br />Article 11 by a vote of 5-0. <br />Motion made by Selectman Carol Sherman. <br />Motion: I move the Town vote to appropriate and <br />transfer the sum of $150,742 from the Community <br />Preservation Fund 10% Historic Reserve in accordance <br />with the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 44B, §5 for the <br />purpose of funding the Historic Document Restoration <br />Project Phase I, including necessary costs and expenses <br />related thereto, as recommended by the Community <br />Preservation Committee. <br />Motion passes at 7:38 PM. <br />Article 12 <br />To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer <br />from the Community Preservation Fund Historic <br />Preservation Reserve, in accordance with the <br />provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 44B §5, the sum of <br />$400,000 for the purpose of funding the Mashpee <br />Parsonage Restoration Project, including any necessary <br />costs and expenses related thereto as recommended by <br />the Community Preservation Committee, said sum to <br />be disbursed subject to and contingent upon prior <br />execution of a Memorandum of Understanding <br />between the fund recipient and the Board of Selectmen <br />establishing milestones for full Project funding and a <br />schedule for release of the subject appropriated CPA <br />funds in relation thereto, and, further, subject to the <br />recording of a Preservation Restriction to assure that <br />the subject historic property's intrinsic values will be <br />preserved through any subsequent ownership by <br />restricting the demolition or alteration of its significant <br />historic features, all as recommended by the <br />Community Preservation Committee, or take any other <br />action relating thereto. <br />Submitted by the <br />Community Preservation Committee <br />Explanation: The project seeks to restore and preserve <br />one of the few remaining historic buildings in Town, <br />the Tribal Parsonage. The building has fallen into <br />disrepair and requires immediate action before the <br />structure is lost. This project represents a partnership <br />between the Town and the Wampanoag Tribe and relies <br />on the Tribe raising the balance of the funds needed to <br />complete the reconstruction.
