The Board of Selectmen recommends approval of <br />Article 5 by a vote of 4-0. <br />The Finance Committee recommends approval of <br />Article 5 by a vote of 6-0. <br />Motion made by Selectman Thomas O'Hara. <br />Motion: 1 move that the Town vote to approve the <br />regional school district debt assessment for the Cape <br />Cod Regional Technical High School District Building <br />Project for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2019, in the <br />amount of $7,732,364, and further, to see if the Town <br />will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $611,150 <br />to meet its share of the cost of debt for the Cape Cod <br />Regional Technical High School District Building <br />Project for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2019. <br />Motion passes unanimously at 8:37 PM. <br />Article 6 <br />To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer <br />the sum of $250,000 from revenue available for <br />appropriation to the Other Postemployment Benefits <br />Irrevocable Trust Fund, or take any other action <br />relating thereto. <br />Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br />Explanation: This article will add funds to the OPEB <br />Irrevocable Trust Fund which was established in FY <br />2013 to assist the Town with meeting its potential post - <br />employment benefits obligation. <br />The Board of Selectmen recommends approval of <br />Article 6 by a vote of 4-0. <br />The Finance Committee recommends approval of <br />Article 6 by a vote of 6-0. <br />Motion made by Selectman Carol Sherman <br />Motion: I move the Town vote to appropriate and <br />transfer the sum of $250,000 from revenue available <br />for appropriation to the Other Postemployment <br />Benefits Irrevocable Trust Fund. <br />Motion passes unanimously at 8:38 PM. <br />Article 7 <br />To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer <br />the sum of $1,381,680 from revenue available for <br />appropriation, to be deposited into the Capital <br />Stabilization Fund, or take any other action relating <br />thereto. <br />Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br />Explanation: This article will set aside funds in to the <br />Capital Stabilization account for future capital <br />expenditures in an effort to ensure the Town will <br />maintain its assets at a level adequate to protect the <br />Town's capital investments and to minimize future <br />maintenance and replacement costs. <br />The Board of Selectmen recommends approval of <br />Article 7 by a vote of 4-0. <br />The Finance Committee recommends approval of <br />Article 7 by a vote of 6-0. <br />Motion made by Selectman John Cahalane. <br />Motion: I move the Town vote to appropriate and <br />transfer the sum of $1,381,680 from revenue available <br />for appropriation, to be deposited into the Capital <br />Stabilization Fund. <br />Motion passes unanimously at 8:39 PM. <br />Article 8 <br />To see if the Town will vote to accept Section 3A of c. <br />337 of the Acts of 2018 (Section 3A of G. L. c. 64G) <br />authorizing the imposition of a local excise tax upon <br />the transfer of occupancy of a room in a bed and <br />breakfast establishment, hotel, lodging house, short- <br />term rental or motel at the rate of 6% of the total <br />amount of rent paid for each such occupancy, or take <br />any other action relative thereto. <br />Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br />Explanation: This article authorizes the imposition of <br />a local excise tax of 6% of the total amount of rent paid <br />for on the transfer of occupancy of various types of <br />short-term rentals as authorized by c. 337 of the Acts <br />of 2018, effective on July 1, 2019, <br />The Board of Selectmen recommends approval of <br />Article 8 by a vote of 4-0. <br />The Finance Committee recommends approval of <br />Article 8 by a vote of 3-2. <br />Motion made by Selectman Andrew Gottlieb. <br />11 <br />
