MASHPEE COMMUNITY GARDEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE (MCGAC) MEETING MINUTES October 18, 2023 7:00 P.M. Popponesset Meeting Room PRESENT: Chair, Kirsten Nordstrom, Frank Gallello, Brian Logan, Roslyn Robinson Mann, Polly Minugh (via Zoom), Virginia Scharfenberg (via Zoom) GUEST ATTENDEES: None at This Time. CALL TO ORDER: Chair, Kirsten Nordstrom called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. DISCUSS AND APPROVE MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 20, 2023 MCGAC MEETING: A motion was made by Mr. Gallello to approve the minutes of the September 20, 2023 MCGAC meeting. Motion seconded by Mr. Logan. Motion passed by unanimous consent. COMMUNICATIONS & CORRESPONDENCE: • Joe Salvo requesting to move to plot 12 in order to be closer to the parking lot and the hose. Joe is also requesting to plant garlic to over winter. Joe Salvo has requested to move from plot 20 to plot 12. He has also requested permission to over winter garlic. Roslyn Robinson Mann has been moved from plot 26 to plot 20. Plots 2, 26 & 33 are opened. Kirsten Nordstrom stated that there are a number of requests coming in from gardeners to over winter. Frank Gallello and Brian Logan are requesting to plant clover on their plots. Jim Zingarelli and Lynn Harris have requested to over winter garlic. A motion was made by Mr. Gallello to approve the above requests. Motion seconded by Mr. Logan. Motion passed by unanimous consent. REPORTS: • Available Garden Plots and Wait List for 2024 —Virginia Scharfenberg. It was reported that plots 2, 26 and 33 will be vacant for this upcoming spring and plot 11 may become vacant. James Jackson submitted a letter of interest to become a gardener. Sandy Godfrey requested a larger plot. She is currently at plot 30. • Volunteer Hours Summary to Date — Polly Minugh Polly reported that she does not have an update at this time. • Advisory Board Remaining Vacancy — Kirsten Nordstrom 1
