Mr. Lehrer will <br />reach outto the schools forfurther inquiry/input. <br />Policy FS7: Maximize non -property tax funding sources for new municipal buildings and <br />facilities as well as school buildings and facilities. <br />Policy FS8: Foster cross -sector collaboration and cooperation to develop a common <br />understanding of health and human service needs, priorities, and appropriate resource <br />allocation to critical areas of need such as substance abuse programs, homelessness <br />prevention, child care, etc. <br />Policy FS9: Maintain and enhance cross -sector collaborations with educational institutions and <br />research organizations to bolster programs forwater quality sampling and reporting. <br />Ms. Waygan noted an action to coordinate with the Tribe, Association to Preserve Cape Cod, <br />as well as neighboring towns, <br />Policy FS10: Prioritize collaboration and communication with the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe <br />on all matters. <br />An action would be to hold quarterly meetings between Select Board and Tribal Counsel. Mr. <br />Lehrer noted the shared housing goals and natural resources, where there is already <br />collaboration with departments. This section should cover municipal government at its highest <br />level. <br />Ms. Waygan stated the Community Preservation Committee should be checking in with the <br />Tribe to see if they want a parcel that is presented. The Planning Board gets notices if there <br />are zoning changes in neighboring towns. Wheneveran application comes through the CPC <br />one extra copy is sent to Tribal Headquarters, maybe they have an interest. <br />Policy FS11: Ensure critical facilities are located near populated centers while promoting <br />equitable access to underserved communities. Mr. Lehrer elaborated that `critical facilities' is a <br />technical term that exists in the Hazard Mitigation Plan, it is important to contemplate critical <br />facilities, it gets at emergency management. <br />For example, the Children's Museum is a critical facility, it's out of the flood zone. More <br />examples are grocery stores, Senior Center, cell towers, damns, and culverts.
