12 <br />Select Board <br />Minutes <br />April 29, 2024 <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Discussion A ?royal and Execution of Amendment of Conservation Restriction and "tuitclaim Deed to <br />Town of Barnstable Re, rdinL Town Owned Land Located in the Santuit Pond Preserve as More <br />Particularly Described in the Deed Recorded at the Barnstable Count Red is y of Deeds Book 24w535 Pa e <br />313: ., .. ... ... <br />Selectman Sherman moved that the Select Board vote, in connection with the Town's transfer of a <br />one-half interest in the 15.24+/- acres to the Town of Barnstable as previously authorized by the vote <br />of the Annual Town Meeting on May 2, 2011 (Article 15 of the Warrant), to approve amending the <br />existing Conservation Restriction recorded in the Barnstable County Registry of Deeds in Book <br />15305, Page 123, and held by the Department of Fish and Game upon the 293+/- acre property co - <br />owned by the Towns of Barnstable and Mashpee, in order to make the 15.24 +/- acres subject to the <br />Conservation Restriction in accordance with Chapter 149 of the Acts of 2013; and that the Board <br />approve the execution of a Deed conveying the one-half interest in the 15.24 +/- acres to Barnstable <br />and the amended Conservation Restriction Order of Taking and to deliver/ record any other <br />documents necessary to effectuate and complete this transaction. <br />The motion was seconded by Selectman Wyman -Colombo. <br />VOTE: 5-0. Unanimous. <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Selectman Sherman, yes <br />Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Wyman -Colombo, yes Opposed, none <br />Taking action on the above referenced motion, the Town would transfer one-half interest in the 15.24+ <br />acres to the Town of Barnstable as previously authorized. This combines the management of the property <br />under one control of conservation land by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. It is also anticipated the <br />Town of Mashpee Community Preservation Committee would receive a contribution in the amount of <br />$150,000 towards the cost of the land. <br />LIAISON REPORTS <br />P%21: op essset Workm Group: It was reported the last two Popponesset Working Group meetings have <br />been well -attended and productive. Participating Town staff members have been instrumental in providing <br />valuable insight at the meetings. <br />Harbor Management Committee: The Harbor Management Committee remains active moving forward with <br />the desired tasks. <br />DNR: The Department of Natural Resources will be holding an informational gathering at the Santuit <br />Pond boat landing on May 4, 2024 from 9-1 p.m. This includes a clean-up of the area. Volunteer support <br />is needed. <br />
