-2-
Richard asked Grafton of Baker Monument to look at two of the stones at the Pocknett
Cemetery. The former Chief built a wooden frame to hold up these two stones, and
Richard was questioning how to address these. Four new signs for the cemeteries, and
the CPC recognition signs, have been finished, and they will be installed.
The Veterans Banners proofs have been checked and have been sent to the printer for
printing. The banners will be delivered next week to Town Hall. The ceremony is
scheduled for Saturday, August 3ra
Brian Hyde informed us of two Mashpee properties currently up for sale that the owners
are entertaining selling their properties to the Town of Mashpee. He volunteered to
continue being the MHC liaison to the CPC.
Ava discussed the MHC Roles and Responsibilities — She would like to update it with
our current activities and responsibilities.
Richard informed us that he now has a new Facebook page on the Mashpee one-room
schoolhouse. He has updated the Facebook site with lots of new information, including
the gravesite of Minnie Baker, the last teacher before the schoolhouse closed in 1901 ,
Richard told us that he had finally procured the old wooden Town Seal. It has been
installed and is now on display at the Archives.
Lenny expressed an interest on looking at a map of the Ancient Ways and showing an
overlay of all the development in town. He was questioning how many of these ancient
ways have disappeared or have not been maintained?
Brian made a motion to adjourn the meeting; it was seconded by Ava, and approved,
and the meeting was adjourned at 6:15pm.
Respectfully submitted
Ann Graham, Sr. Clerk
