She provided an update to communications with the <br /> group and noted that Sandwich is very interested in the system and would like to know what it would do <br /> with the nitrogen reduction. The engineers will be working together from both Towns to continue further <br /> discussions. With regard to Waquoit Bay IMA, it was signed in early spring. The working group has met <br /> once and had a substantive meeting sharing what each Town is doing and discussing ways of working <br /> together. We're working on scheduling a meeting in the near future. The Towns involved in the Waquoit <br /> Bay IMA is Sandwich, Falmouth and Mashpee. <br /> Select Woman Colombo lastly made a request for the Select Board to have a tour of the Wastewater <br /> Resource Recovery Facility(WRRF). <br /> Chair Harris then inquired about the watershed permits. Select Woman Colombo responded that a Notice <br /> of Intent has been submitted. <br /> Public Comment was made by Susan Dangle, President of Save Mashpee Wakeby Pond Alliance, with <br /> regard to the agreement with Sandwich and the Town Manager's clean water goals being related to <br /> nitrogen and wanted to clarify that for homeowners on the north side of Wakeby that it's phosphorus. <br /> Mr. Meader commented that it will be a two for one as part of the SRF funding. <br /> Chair's Report <br /> Chair Harris wanted to congratulate the Town of Mashpee for an award from the State for$1.6 million for <br /> Santuit Pond mitigation for cynobacteria and restoration. There's also a plan for a Town landing. Mr. <br /> Meader confirmed there is a landing at Santuit Pond. <br /> Chair Harris requested that Mr. Meader provide some ampidrone information at the next meeting. Mr. <br /> Meader wants to get agreement from Town Counsel that having presentations from company's doesn't <br /> present a conflict of interest. The Chair agreed that the Commission would hold off on this for now so as <br /> not to interfere with the request for proposal (RFP). <br /> Chair Harris shared that there will be a plaque placed on the WRRF and needing the names for the plaque <br /> and how far back the names should go and welcomed comments from the Commissioners, public <br /> comment and members of the Select Board. She further stated that she'd be having a discussion with the <br /> Town Manager,as well. <br /> Chair Harris looked for clarification of the Annual Town Meeting which would be held on Monday,October <br /> 21, 2024. Chair Harris said that there will be some questions that will need to be addressed in the next <br /> meetings relative to the Annual Town Meeting. <br /> Chair Harris stated that the Sewer Commission continues to look for new members and that there are <br /> currently two open positions. Commissioners Towle,Castenada,and Sprout and Chair Harris then shared <br /> their stories on why they chose to become members of the Sewer Commission.
