9
Community Preservation Committee
Minutes
December 19, 2024
Richard DeS9r6,J1eT_:::-MaslXqe Veteran War Monument II; (continued)
Landscaping would include native plantings, lighting, paths, benches, and walkways to improve
the overall character of the Community Park. The DPW Director was noted to have suggested a
lawn berm be included to reduce noise, and to bring a sense of calm and quiet to the monument.
With CPA funding, work would be undertaken as soon as possible with construction completion
in the summer of 2026, and a dedication ceremony thereafter.
To defray costs, the DPW will provide labor including a contribution for the planting of trees.
The added berm on Route 130 would begin low and rise to approximately 5' for noise reduction
as well as ston-nwater bio-retention. The berm is anticipated to cost$11,500 to bring forth a total
funding request of$425,645. The cost projection includes a project contingency to assume any
risen costs and to avoid a return to request additional CPA funding.
Mr. DeSorgher was requested to present this project to the Select Board as the property lies on
Town owned land.
COMMUNICATIONS & CORRESPONDENCE
CPC Meeti a Schedule:
The CPC Meeting Calendar from January through June 2025 is as follows.
