MINUTES June 15, 1989 2 BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> Mr. Costa stated the material should have been barged out. Mr. Costa <br /> requested Health Agents to inspect the dredge material and report to <br /> this Board with their findings. <br /> 5. ) Copy - Response from Board of Sel . to Samuel Singer re: B.O.H. parti- <br /> cipation in Otis Plume discussions - The Board acknowledged receiving <br /> a copy of this response from the Selectmen. <br /> 6. ) Request for waiver of Retail Food Establishment Permit - Mashpee Good <br /> Neighbor Fund - Mr. Evans recommended all necessary inspections take <br /> place. <br /> Mr. Doherty motioned to waive the fee for a Retail Food Establishment <br /> permit as requested with the stipulation all necessary inspections are <br /> conducted, Mr. Greelish seconded, all agreed. <br /> 7. ) Variance request - Arrow Eng. , lot 31 A Nobska Road, (variance pre- <br /> viously granted) - Mr. Costa was informed the septic permit has ex- <br /> pired. <br /> Mr. Greelish motioned to grant the variance as requested, Mr. Doherty <br /> seconded, all agreed. <br /> 8. ) Memo from Exec. Sec. to B.O.H. re: Written complaint, Allenby Tree Co. - <br /> Mr. Costa stated he is receipt of two photographs taken by the Conserva- <br /> tion Commission officer which picture a Allenby vehicle pumping water from <br /> the bog on the town line. Mr. Costa commented he spoke with the secretary <br /> to the Falmouth Police chief who stated she would issue a copy of Chief <br /> Rodrigues' s letter to the patrolmen and explained a copy of the B.O.H. <br /> pesticide regulation was submitted to the Mashpee Police. Mr. Costa <br /> stated the watch commander on duty felt the regulation could not be en- <br /> forced by local police. Mr. Costa stated he will consult with the Police <br /> Chief on this matter. <br /> Mr. Costa informed the Board Mr. Virgilio has erected a no pumping sign <br /> and with cooperation from the Falmouth D.P.W. will erect a red cedar <br /> fence along the area in question. <br /> Mr. Greelish recommended a water sample be drawn on the Mashpee side <br /> of the bog when Allenby is drawing water. <br /> APPOINTMENT: All Cape Surveying - Emergency Repair - Seconsett Island parcel 104 <br /> Mr. Christopher Costa was in attendance for this scheduled appointment. <br /> Mr. C. Costa informed the Board that Mr. McQuaid did research this lot <br /> in B.O.H. files and found nothing on record. Mr. C. Costa presented two pro- <br /> posed plans to the Board and commented abutting wells and septics were located. <br /> Mr. C. Costa stated the well on the property services 'two houses and commented <br /> Mr. McQuaid did inspect the site and found the system to be in failure. Mr. C. <br /> Costa exlained two options are available to place the septic on the lot, that <br /> being flow difussors or trenches. Mr. C. Costa commmented if flow difussors <br /> are installed a 100' distance cannot be maintained from the well . Mr. C. Costa <br /> stated if trenches are installed a 1031 foot distance can be maintained from <br /> the well . Mr. Costa stated the owner may be considering an addition in the near <br /> future. <br />
