4 Community Preservation Committee Minutes July 5, 2011 Review of CPA Application for October 2011 Town Meeting: Pickerel Cove Recreation Area: (continued) It was explained that additional signage would be placed at the new Pickerel Cove Recreational Area entry that would list allowable and prohibitive activities. The property will also be added to the map of Town Recreational Areas. Ms. Laurent indicated the DPW and Conservation Department will be scheduling an outreach meeting next month to discuss proposed improvements to the Pickerel Cove Recreation Area, and to review and answer questions with the neighborhood and interested citizens. The DPW will perform the tree work related to the project proposal, as well as furnish funds for future maintenance assumptions. No trees are proposed to be removed to access the shoreline. Being no comment, the Community Preservation Committee motioned as follows; Motion made by Mr. Larkin to approve and recommend to the October 2011 Town Meeting the following article; To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer from the Community Preservation Fund, in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L., Chapter 44B, §5, $64,160 for the purposes of funding Recreational Improvements to the Pickerel Cove Recreation Area, including any necessary costs and expenses related thereto, as recommended by the Community Preservation Committee, or take any other action relating thereto. Submitted by the Community Preservation Committee The motion as presented shall include the roadway and 6-car parking area. Motion seconded by Mrs. Buschenfeldt. VOTE: Unanimous. 7-0.
