h MINUTES April 15, 1993 4 BOARD OF HEALTH Mr. Greelish explained, "Any development of any size re- quires a hydrogeological survey. '" Mr. Doherty questioned Mr. Greene as to whether they have approached New Seabury. Mr. Greene responded, . "Mo they have not. " Mr. Cash recommended the Board work with the Waquoit Bay Association. Mr. Greelish explained, "The Waquoit Bay Association is probably many years away from having any kind of authority on this type of project. " "New Seabury is still operating under their Special Permit however, it is not applicable to Board of Health requirements. " Mr. Greene questioned Board members as to whether their group could expedite things. Mr. Greelish responded, "We would have to research the matter. " Mr. Doherty questioned whether this subdivision would be referred to the Cape Cod Commission. Mr. McQuaid responded, "I do not believe so. " "I am un- sure as to whether a hydro-geo study would be required by the Planning Board for this subdivision. "' Mr: Greelish relayed, "The Planning Board now requires ' the Board of Health to determine whether a hydrogeo. study is necessitated. " Mr. Cash recommended the Board request the State inter- cede to protect the wildlife. Mr. Greelish commented, "This town does not have a re- striction that's enforceable that limits nitrogen loading in sensitive areas. " "The Planning Board has used their initia- tive to require the Developer's to voluntarily limit nitrogen loading. " "This Board will require a hydrogeo. study and there will be many more hearings on the subdivision. " '"We will notify those attending this evening of any upcoming hearings on the matter. " I Mr. Greene commented, "Flat Pond is the only area in Mashpee where white perch come in to spawn. " "It is a valu- able resource. " "It is a very shallow, fragile pond and does not have a massive flushing system from the ocean. "
