r
MINUTES June 10, 1993 4 BOARD OF HEALTH
 y
i
Mr. Atwood responded, "It was based on topography only. "
Ms. Atwood stated, "Flat Pond *is down gradient of the
proposed Flat Pond subdivision. "
a ,
Mr. Greelish commented, "The key question is whether lo-
cal discharge will pass under the pond or break into the pond
at any point. "
Mr. Atwood relayed, "Our intentions are to further
monitor the tidal fluctuations because we feel that they
could have quite an impact on the final groundwater recharge
zone. " "Groundwater recharge in the surface water shed are
not contiguous, which is often the case on Cape Cod. " "The
water shed would have a minimal influence on the pond whereas
the groundwater recharge area would be the one that is most
critical. "
Mr. McQuaid relayed, "When we met informally with the
Conservation Commission Agent and the Town Planner to discuss
the location for the monitoring wells it was agreed one
monitoring well up-gradient of the proposed subdivision and
two down-gradient of the subdivision ahead of Flat Pond. " "I
would recommend the Board recommend one monitoring well in a
direct down-gradient line of the subdivision. "
Mr. Greelish questioned Mr. Grotske as to whether New
Seabury is willing to voluntarily extend the Planning Board
six weeks time in which to review plans. "
Mr. Grotske stated, "I will extend the Planning Board
six weeks time in which to review plans. "
Ms. Atwood questioned whether v.o.c. testing will be re-
quired. "
Board members agreed water sampling for sodium and ni-
trogen will be required along with one round of volatile or-
ganic. compound testing.
Mr. Doherty directed Mr. McQuaid to forward a memo to
the Planning Board informing them of this Board's water sam-
pling recommendations.
"Agreement: between Cape Cod Commission & New Seabur
Board members agreed this matter does not require Ex-
ecutive Session.
I
