MINUTES July 22, 1993 6 BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> *****NEW BUSINESS***** <br /> i <br /> Emergency Failure Certification - 17 Sunset Circle <br /> Mr. Evans relayed he inspected the site and found the <br /> leaching facility in failure. <br /> Board members forwarded their signatures to the "Emer- <br /> gency Repair Certification" form. <br /> Letter from Dr. Schutten re: outbreak of conjunctivitis . - <br /> Mr. McQuaid relayed, "Dr. Schutten, who is an Ophthal- <br /> mologist in the town of Falmouth, submitted a letter express- <br /> ing his concerns regarding four- separate patients who,are be- <br /> ing treated for a severe eye infection. " "Upon researching <br /> the matter is was learned all four patients were swimming in <br /> John's Pond two days prior to the onset of the eye <br /> infection. " "I did contact the Barnstable County -Health De- <br /> partment. " "It was agreed I would resample the beaches and <br /> they would run additional bacteriological testing. " <br /> Mr. Greelish recommended the Board request Dr. Schutten <br /> provide the patients names so that a Health Agent can <br /> follow-up on the matter. <br /> Letter from the Attorney General's office re: Lagoon Clo- <br /> sure <br /> Mr. McQuaid relayed, "I will prepare a regulation which <br /> instructs the hauler's to begin disposing of their septage in <br /> Barnstable 60 days from this date henceforth until otherwise <br /> directed by this Board. " <br /> Mr. Greelish stated, "This Board will generate a sched- <br /> ule for closure. " <br /> Deidre Greelish - re: Erroneous statement in local newspaper <br /> Ms. Greelish questioned Mr. Doherty as to what informa- <br /> tion he has that her company "Applications for Computers" has <br /> ever sold equipment or software to the Board of Health that <br /> would lead Mr. Doherty to make the remark he made which was <br /> published in the paper. " <br /> Mr. Doherty responded, "When the Board of Health pur- <br /> chased their computer and the SMART Software everything was <br /> done through Mr. Greelish. " "I may have made an assumption <br /> be it incorrect or not that that had something to do with <br /> "Applications for Computers" . " "If he did not purchase the <br /> equipment from you I apologize for that however, we did en- <br /> gage your services to train the office staff. " <br />
