MINUTES April 271995 9 BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> I <br /> Mr. McQuaid commented, "I spoke with George Heufelder from the County who <br /> was of the opinion the septic tank would not be in failure if the liquid was below the outlet <br /> T's if no one was living in the house because they used to make weep holes in the tanks <br /> that were built-in to let some of the rainwater out." "The weep holes use to seal <br /> themselves with the solids and the sludge at the bottom of the tank." "He secondly said, <br /> "If there is a small leak in the tank on the seal that's no worse then what happens to <br /> effluent when it gets to the pit." "The question is whether we want to put the homeowner <br /> to the expense of excavating the entire pit." <br /> Mr. Evans relayed, "In speaking with a few installer's they informed me they do <br /> not put them together they are brought in that way." <br /> r <br /> Mr. Doherty commented, "I would not go to the expense and force the <br /> homeowner to excavate the tank." <br /> D.P.H. Public Hearing re: New Ownership -Pilgrims Pride <br /> Mr. McQuaid relayed, "A meeting has been scheduled a town ball on May 5, 1995 <br /> to discuss the new ownership of the nursing home." <br /> Copy of letter from Town Counsel to McDonald <br /> Acknowledged. <br /> M.H.O.A. Conference - "Disaster Planning" <br /> Mr. Doherty relayed, "I attended the conference and was disappointed."
