MINUTES June 22, 1995 4 BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> Mr. DiMaggio responded, "The contamination occurs during the off days the <br /> recycling area is open." "I suggested covers be placed on the bins on the off days." <br /> Mr. McQuaid relayed, "In my opinion Mr. DiMaggio should be monitoring the <br /> recycling area six days per week." <br /> Mr. Cram informed Mr. DiMaggio, "The employees you have hired to monitor the <br /> recycling area tend to bring their children with them and the adults are off somewhere else <br /> and their children are handling the recyclables." <br /> Mr. DiMaggio responded, "I did not know that and I will put a stop to it." <br /> r <br /> Mr. McQuaid relayed, "We could purchase covers for the recycling bins." <br /> Mr. DiMaggio responded, "30 yard roll-offs are very large containers." "It will be <br /> difficult to cover and uncover them." <br /> Mr. McQuaid stated, "We could design special covers for all the bins." "I question <br /> whether the people who are employed to monitor the recycling know exactly the process <br /> of recycling." <br /> Mr. DiMaggio relayed, "They do know the process." "I believe the "Project <br /> Coach" kids may have contaminated the glass bins." "There was only one person to <br /> supervise the kids and I witnessed them making a game of the glass recyclables." <br /> Request for increase in brush and demolition fees <br /> Mr. Doherty stepped down from this matter as he found it to be a conflict of <br /> interest. <br /> Mr. S. Joseph DiMaggio was in attendance. <br /> Mr. DiMaggio stated, "Due to the cost of operating the machine I am requesting a <br /> slight increase in the fees." "I researched the costs in surrounding towns and took the <br /> lowest fees." "The smaller vehicles will remain the same, one I decreased, the remaining <br /> were increased." <br /> Mr. DiMaggio stated, "I would like the Board to approve a policy whereby all <br /> refrigerator doors must be removed." <br />
