7. <br /> Charles Rowley a'sked what happened to a bikeway which was included in a <br /> Particular roadway design. <br /> D'Oud Storres stated that they are looking at a number of alternatives. They <br /> may move it off the side streets and bring it to the downtown. <br /> Charles Rowley asked what happened to the pa,vement, and Jobs Fishing Rd, It is <br /> basically a throagh street from 151 to 28. Would you have to Cut the speed <br /> restrictions down to Something like 20 mph? <br /> Dou,g Storres stated it would be a through street. <br /> Charles Rowley stated that under the current zoning they could not do what <br /> they want to, do. It would chanLe the character. <br /> Doug stated it may change the character but he does not think it will chahgo <br /> the function of the roadway as a by-pass. <br /> Charles Rowley stated that the public safety is going to become a main issue. <br /> Judy Mills stated that they are looking for I on-street parking. "dais is what <br /> the problem is now. <br /> Louise stated you are going to have on-street parking, three lanes and <br /> pedestrians crossing the street. It is going to be extremely difficult to get <br /> to the rotary because of all the intersections. There is a very serious <br /> problem, with the visibility. <br /> Tom Fudala stated that the problem be has is with the concept of directing <br /> the development towards Jobs Fishing Road. He would rather aee it focused <br /> somewhere else. Possibly some other side street. <br /> Coiarles Rowle7 suggested pulling it back from the roadway. It would get the <br /> J,',rtensity away from Jobs Fishing Road. <br /> The public asked how far it was frow the QuaShnet River. It is appro-:fi-matley <br /> 300 feet. There are approxiaaatleY 70 units in this particular area, <br /> I <br /> Charles Rrwley asked what the proposed schedule was for completion, of <br /> J5',s "shing Road,, It should take about two weeks to pave it. <br /> The Planning Board was cencern(,d about the bike path. <br /> Judy Mills suggested that this be continloed to another neeting, She stated <br /> that they are creating a down toWn.
