MINUTES August 20, 1998 4 BOARD OF HEALTH
Mr. Cram stated, "My biggest concerns at this point are the unknowns that we're
dealing with here and I'm not comfortable with it."
Mr. Eynatian stated, "I am too." "I'm very happy with the status quo." "If these
gentlemen want to leave everything the way it is that's fine with me." "The burden is
upon them to try and make all parties feel that the change that they are trying to
implement are not going to be unduly burdensome on any one there."
Mr. Cram questioned Mr. Eynatian, "Do you personally feel that they as owner's
of the property have a right to try and do something with it?"
Mr. Eynatian responded, "They certainly do but it's the towns disregard for the
current residents in the area." "Several of the neighbors have concerns about this
development_" "The only way that some of these people continue to own their homes is
by periodically renting them for the income, that helps them to pay." `Development
causes noise and disrupts the area." "They're not going to have that rental at the time."
Mr. Cram stated, "I'm not going to consider that as a factor."
Mr. Eynatian stated, "This is why you may think of me being unreasonable in my
stance of not being as cooperative as I might be in this situation." "I'm trying to tell you
that there is a reason why I don't choose to be cooperative with these gentlemen." "They
have a callous disregard for anyone's interest other than their own." "I don't think that
that is the right way to go about developing."
Mr. Cram stated, "As a property owner myself, I would want them to disclose
everything possible to protect my interests on a piece of property."
Mr. Eynatian stated, "I will happily disclose that I would appreciate it if the town
would uphold its regulation of keeping any septic within 150' of all the boundaries of my
lot since the gentlemen can't determine where exactly on my lot my well is located."
Mr. Bunker stated, "You are withholding the location."
Mr. Ball commented, "There is nothing we can do." "All that we're looking at
right now is that you are asking to reduce the distance between the proposed leaching
facility and the perimeter of his lot." "That's the issue here." "Whether we grant the
variances or not that's what this Board has to decide." "At the last meeting we asked
them to maintain 100' or more between the corner of the lot and the proposed leaching
facility and they provided us with that." "That's the issue."
