He then stated that he received two bids for
plumbing work with a $400 difference. He could not find any one particular person to
do the construction part of it and also do the motor work. It was noted that three bids
are required. Mr. Cassanelli will need to get one more bid.
Mr. McQuaid stated that he would sit down with Diane Rommelmeycr, Town
Accountant, to work it out some of these problems.
Mr. Cassanelli stated that he received the bill for the power washing for $1,700. He stated that he went to DEP to get a designation for the use of his
restaurants as fast-food types. He met with Brian Dudley of DEP and it was verbally
agreed to the reclassification. He noted that based on that reclassification, their
numbers for capacity change.
Mr. Mitrokostas noted the capacities and stated that the flow is 6,090 gallons. Title V
would require double capacity, which would be 12,000. He noted they have an 8,000
gallon system with a 12,000 gallon leaching field. He is asking for variances of septic
use; which at this time is 2876 per day for the whole shopping center. He added that
the grease trap is undersized. He stated that they have a 2,000 gallon system;
however, based on the history of the shopping center and since he just pumped it,
they have taken out only 4,000 gallons in nine years. The state regulation is a 4,000
gallon tank. In order to be granted the variance, they have retained Warren Cesspool
to come every month and do a check of the grease trap. If the container is 25% filled,
they will pump at that time.
