J
MINUTES July 20, 2000 7 BOARD OF HEALTH
the owner responsible or compel him to do so. Mr. Santos seconded the
motion. Motion passed.
OLD BUSINESS
a. Clivus Multrum/De-watered peres
Discussion took place regarding the Clivus Multrum system enabling
technically unbuildable lots in wetland areas to be built upon. Mr. Ball
recommended a moratorium on such composting systems in Mashpee.
Mr. McQuaid stated that he would be interested in researching what other
towns are restricting or requiring for dewatered peres. He further stated that he
feels that if there is going to be a restriction, it should be on dewatered peres,
not necessarily the improved technology of Clivus Multrum systems. Board
members agreed.
Mr. Doherty motioned to place a temporary moratorium on the use of dewatered
perc tests in Mashpee until the-Health Agent can complete his research for a
permanent regulation. Mr. Santos seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Being no further business, Mr. Ball motioned to adjourn this meeting at 8:23 p.m., Mr.
Doherty seconded, all agreed.
Respectfully submitted,
Lucy B. B on, Administrative Secretary
