No <br /> display or signboard dimensions shall exceed forty (40) feet for a <br /> free-standing sign. <br /> 10.6.6 Illuminated signs are permitted, subject to the following ccnditions: <br /> a) No sign shall be intermittently illuminated, nor <br /> of a traveling light, animated or flashing light type. <br /> No exposed neon-type signs shall be permitted in the <br /> Town of Mashpee. <br /> b) Sign illumination is permitted only between the hours of <br /> seven (7) o'clock in the morning and eleven (11) o'clock <br /> in the evening, except the signs of ccnwercial or industrial <br /> establishments may be illuminated during any hours these <br /> establishments are open to the public or in operation. <br /> Illuminated signs on public buildings ar_d land are exempt <br /> from this provision. <br /> 10.6.7 Illumination: Except as otherwise prohibited herein, signs may be <br /> illuminated by any fixed steady light osurce, of such nature and in <br /> in such manner that the brightness of the sign face does not exceed <br /> one hundred (100) lumens per square foot. Except for non-exposed <br /> neon-type signs, where permitted, such illumination shall be so <br /> arranged that its exterior source is not directly visible from any <br /> way or occupied building, and no illumination shall be of any color <br /> that might be ccnfusing to traffic. Holiday lights shall not be <br /> deemed as coming within the provisions of this paragraph, but this <br /> paragraph shall apply to window signs. <br /> 10.6.8 In all zoning districts, for safety reasons, any private outdoor <br /> lighting fixture, exclusive of street lights, whether temporary <br /> or permanent, shall be so placed or hooded that no light beams <br /> shall be directed at any point beyond the lot lines of the premises <br /> illuminated. <br /> 10.6:9 (,there a group (three or more) of business buildings are built as <br /> a "Plaza," "Mall," "Village" or "Shopping Center," and it is desired <br /> to identify the groupings as such, in addition to signs permitted <br /> for individual buildings or businesses, there may be permitted one <br /> free-standing sign, set back not less than twenty-five (25) feet <br /> from each major street, and not to exceed eighty (80) square feet <br /> in area, nor the maximum building height permitted in the zoning <br /> district in which the sign is located. <br /> 10.6.10 Gasoline stations: Standard pump head signs of gasoline filling <br /> stations shall not be included in the total area of signs permitted, <br /> and no permit shall be required therefor, but they shall conform to <br /> the provisions of Section 10.6.7. One free-standing sign, not to <br /> exceed four (4) square feet in signboard area, displaying gasoline <br /> prices may be placed along the front lot line of each gasoline station. <br />
