Chapter 108 Neutralization <br /> A variance has been requested from the Board of Health in <br />Mashpee for the Flow Neutral Regulation (Chapter 108) which <br />mandates that any new nonresidential development on a vacant <br />parcel with wastewater flow exceeding 110 gallons per day per <br />10,000 square feet requires a variance. The project proposes using <br />the BioMicrobics BioBarrier MBR system, approved by MassDEP <br />under Title 5, which aims to reduce total nitrogen to 19 mg/l or less <br />for systems with flows under 10,000 gallons per day. A site- <br />specific design letter indicates the system will meet the 10 mg/l <br />nitrogen requirement.
