Town Meeting -13- May 7. 1979 � ARTICLE 2 To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate or take from available funds a sun of money for the pur- chase of a new dump truck for the Highway Department and the 1968 International dump truck to be used as a trade-in, or take any other action thereon. ACTION: Motion made and seconded to see if,the Town will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $6,587.00 for the pur- chase of a new dump truck for the Highway Department and the 1968 International, dump truck to be used as a trade-in, Motion carried, ARTICLE 28, To see if`the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate or take from available funds a sum of money for the pur- chase of a new pick-up truck for the Highway Department and the 1970 Ford pick-up truck to be used as a trade-in, or take any other action thereon. ACTION: Motion made and seconded to see if the flown will vote to raise and appropriate $5,579.CO for the purchase of a new pick--up truck for the Highway Department and the 1970 Ford pick-up truck to be used as a trade-in, said purchase being con- tingent on the specification being changed to delete automatic transmission. Article 28 accepted as amended, ARTICLE22. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate a sum of money to be expended in conjunction with high- way construction under Cha ter 90 guidelines; one--third repre- senting the Town's share, ; two-thirds representing the State's share, these monies to defray the cost of construction of South Sandwich Road, Pimlico Pond Road and Lowell Road; the tate's share when reimbursed to be returned to Surplus Revenue, or take any other action thereon. ACTION: Motion made and seconded that Article 29 be in- definitely postponed. Motion carried, ARTICLE 30. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appro- priate or take from available funds a sum of money for the pur- chase of a new four--wheel drive pick-up truck with the 1974 Dodge four-wheel drive pick-up truck to be used as a trade-in, or take any other action thereon. ACTION: Motion made and seconded that Article 30 be in- definitely postponed, Motion carried. (Article 30 reopened for consideration later in meeting. See below. )* ARTICLE 31, To see if the Town will vote to hire one additional skilled laborer and to raise and appropriate a sum of money to pay the salary in accordance with the Salary Administration Plan or take any other action thereon. ACTION: Motion made and seconded that Article 31 be in- definitely postponed. Motion carried. ARTICLE 2. To see if the Town will vote to amend the Salary Administration Plan, Table II, Salary and Wage Classification with Position Titles to add thereto the following: Assistant Mechanic, Grade , Step , and to authorize the Highway Department to hire "ne Assistant Mechanic and to raise and appropriate, or transfer from available funds, a sum of money to pay the salary in accordance with the SAP as amended herein, or take any other action thereon, ACTION: Motion made and seconded that Article 32 be in- definitely postponed* motion carried. 34 no, 188 yes. *At this time Article 30 was reopened. Vote to reconsider Article 30 - 157 yes, 73 no. Vote to not Indefinitely Postpone Article 30 - 109 yes, 147 no.
