7 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> May 19,2008 , <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Special Event A lication—"Cast for Kids" Chgp�y Event: <br /> James Halpin of Sandwich was in attendance with Gus Frederick, Director <br /> of Leisure Services to discuss the"Cast for Kids" charity fishing event to <br /> be.held on August 17,2008 at Mashpee-Wakeby Pond. It was noted the <br /> Harbormaster has reviewed the request. There appears to be no conflicts <br /> with the program. <br /> Mr. Halpin.indicated that Mashpee students are eligible to participate in <br /> the program geared for disabled and disadvantaged children. The Cast for <br /> Kids is a non-profit organization to give children a chance to fish out on <br /> the water. Rods,reels,tackle boxes and tee-shirts are provided to each <br /> participant. The intent of the program is to attract potential child anglers <br /> from the May Institute. <br /> Discussion followed regarding the logistics of the event such as liability <br /> insurance, number of participating boats, etc. as proposed for the event. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cook to approve the Cast for Kids <br /> Charity Event on August 17,2008 as referenced and subject to a <br /> report of all of the logistics related to the event. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />
