6 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> September 25, 2006 <br /> MMR ISSUES: <br /> Open House-October 14, 2006: <br /> The Selectmen were invited to attend an open house on Saturday, October <br /> 14,2006 to review the environment of the Massachusetts Military <br /> Reservation and to learn about the missions of the Army National Guard <br /> Camp Edwards Training Site, Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod,and Air <br /> National Guard Combat Communication Training Camp Complex. <br /> Notice of Project Change: <br /> The dates of the public forum regarding the proposed project change will <br /> be announced at the next Selectmen's Meeting. Project change initiatives <br /> include the development of a new capture system and the use of lead <br /> ammunition. <br /> BLUE RIBBON COMPREHENSIVE COMMITTEE: <br /> Common issues regarding the School and the Town were discussed by the <br /> BRCC at their last meeting. Representatives from the School system <br /> discussed the potential for applicable high school students and student <br /> senior projects to assist with water issues by comparing data, gathering <br /> information and working with Town departments and volunteers in a <br /> unison effort. A science curriculum is envisioned to assess waterways and <br /> other environmental issues. Discussion also followed regarding the role of <br /> the future education coordinator. <br /> The BRCC is expected to present a formal update to the Selectmen in <br /> October. <br />
