3 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> May 16, 2005 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Assistant DPW Director: <br /> Recommendation for Acceptance of Annual Bid—Crack Sealin <br /> Greg Taylor, Director of Public Works was present to request the <br /> Selectmen approve the annual contract for crack sealing (asphalt-fiber <br /> compound) to Crack-Sealing, Inc. for fiscal year 2006. <br /> Two identical bids were received for FY06. A coin toss was held to break <br /> the tie; Crack-Sealing, Inc. won the coin toss. <br /> It was noted however that the second low bidder, Sealcoating, Inc. <br /> submitted a comparable bid for fiscal year 2007, and a presented a <br /> significantly lower bid for fiscal year 2008. Based upon the results, the <br /> Town Manager recommended the Selectmen advertise to re-bid for the <br /> annual crack sealing contract. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Myers to reject the Crack Sealing bid <br /> from Crack-Sealing,Inc. and advertise to re-bid for the annual <br /> contract for crack sealing(asphalt-fiber compound) as recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Recommendation for Bid Acceptance—Frank Hicks Drive Realignment <br /> Project/Town Portion: _.„.._._. <br /> Lawrence Lynch Corporation submitted the low bid for the Town's <br /> portion of the Frank Hicks Drive realignment project. With the <br /> Selectmen's approval, the contractor would be able to proceed by early <br /> June. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to accept the bid from the <br /> Lawrence Lynch Corporation in the amount of$346,300 for the <br /> Town's portion of the Frank Hicks Drive realignment project. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cook. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br />
