7 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> June 7, 2004 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS <br /> AFCEE_--Request to Place Monitoring Wells: <br /> Michael Minior,Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence was <br /> present to request the Selectmen approve access to two parcels of <br /> conservation land to install a groundwater monitoring well at each parcel <br /> and to collect groundwater samples for investigative purposes. <br /> The parcels are located on May 57,Parcel 47 103 Hooppole Road and <br /> May 57, Parcel 26, 140 Hooppole Road, Mashpee. A memorandum dated <br /> April 27,2004 detailed the project proposal, <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to approve the request of AFCEE <br /> to enter the conservation properties to install monitoring wells and <br /> return periodically for future sampling activities as described. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Planning Board/Board of Appeals-Affordable Housing Discussion: <br /> Selectman Marsters stepped down for the above referenced topic of <br /> discussion. <br /> The Board of Selectmen met with members of the Planning Board and <br /> Board of Appeals to informally discuss issues relative to affordable <br /> housing in the Town of Mashpee. The Town Planner and Assistant Town <br /> Planner were also in attendance. It was noted that preliminary results of <br /> the planner's needs assessment plan will be discussed on June 29�h. <br /> It was suggested that an improved line of communication be established <br /> with applicable Town board's and committee's and with the Housing <br /> Assistance Corporation. For informational purposes, it was also suggested <br /> that the ZBA disseminate updated regulations to the Planning Board. <br /> Issues relative to density and the need for rental units were discussed. In <br /> particular, affordable units for Mashpee residents and Town employee's <br /> were deemed a priority. <br /> I <br /> To maintain an open dialogue of increased communication, it was agreed <br /> that the chairs of the Zoning Board of Appeals and Planning Board would <br /> meet on a regular basis inviting additional members as needed. <br />
