5 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> November 15, 2004 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Barnstable County Commissioners—Update on Services: <br /> Representatives from the Barnstable County Commissioners updated the <br /> Selectmen on regional services provided by the County. It was noted that <br /> Barnstable County provided $28,808 in County Funds to the Town of <br /> Mashpee in fiscal year 2005. <br /> Services include,the Cape Cod Commission; Affordable Housing <br /> Program, Planning Community Development and Regulatory Programs, <br /> Geographic Information System Program, Transportation Program, Waste <br /> Management and Water and Coastal Resources Program. <br /> Additional services include;the Cape Cod Extension, Cape Light <br /> Compact, Children's Cove, the County Dredge, Health and Environment, <br /> Human Services and Resource Development. New initiatives include the <br /> 100%affordable assisted living facility under construction in Pocasset and <br /> the rabies emergency bait program. <br /> A video was presented to the Selectmen that will be disseminated on the <br /> public access television channel. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Affordable Housing Plan: <br /> Zella Elizenberry and Eric Smith were present to discuss the final Town of <br /> Mashpee Affordable Housing Plan. The plan was prepared by McGregor <br /> &Associates, a consultant hired by the Town with a$13,000 grant <br /> received from the Cape Cod Commission. <br /> Upon approval,the plan would be submitted to the State Department of <br /> Housing and Community Development(DHCD). The Affordable <br /> Housing Committee voted unanimously to recommend the Selectmen's <br /> approval. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Myers to approve the Affordable Housing <br /> Plan for submission to the DHCD. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> Selectman Marsters abstained. <br />
