9 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> June 17, 2002 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Appointment to South Cape,Beach Advisory Committee: <br /> Correspondence was received from Morris Kirsner, Chairman of the <br /> SCBAC dated June 5, 2002 recommending the appointment of Jeralyn <br /> Smith to fill the vacancy. The committee has requested the Board re- <br /> advertise to fill the second SCBAC vacancy. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to appoint Jeralyn Smith to the <br /> South Cape Beach Advisory Committee as recommended, and <br /> advertise for additional candidates to service said committee. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Request to Waive Permit Fees—Leisure Services: <br /> Gus Fredericks, Leisure Service Director requested the Selectmen waive <br /> fees associated to the permit for the upcoming fireworks display to be held <br /> at Heritage Park on Monday, July 1, 2002. The event is sponsored by the <br /> Town of Mashpee. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to waive fees associated to the <br /> Fireworks Permit for the Community Picnic event. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Leveille. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Request from High School Boosters Club: <br /> Dwight Pfundstein, Mashpee High School Boosters Club was present to <br /> request the Selectmen to contribute a sum not to exceed $3500 for the <br /> construction of a press box at the athletic field. <br /> The press box would give the Mashpee students a competitive advantage <br /> to obtain scholarship dollars and be of benefit to may youth groups, and <br /> graduation services. <br /> The matter was deferred to the next scheduled meeting. The potential for <br /> use of county surplus funds was considered. <br />
