6 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 5, 2002 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Department of Public Works-Town HallEgress: (continued) <br /> Discussion followed with respect to potential burial sites on the subject <br /> parcel. In addition,the present front egress, both the left hand turns and <br /> the related traffic flow was considered. <br /> Mr. Taylor was directed to re-address the left hand turns and related traffic <br /> flow with the BSC Group, and return to the Selectmen with a <br /> recommendation. In addition, the potential burial sites on the parcel as <br /> defined by the MA Historical Commission would be further reviewed. <br /> Department of Public Works—Grant Request: <br /> Correspondence was received from Catherine Laurent; Assistant DPW <br /> Director dated July 30, 2002 relative to an application for Urban Self- <br /> Help/Federal Land& Water Conservation Grant for Heritage Park. <br /> The grant, administered by the Massachusetts Executive Office of <br /> Environmental Affairs (EOEA)would be for the construction of additional <br /> fields and a parking lot at Heritage Park. <br /> Greg Taylor reviewed the grant application with the Selectmen. The <br /> maximum award is$250,000.. A local match is required. The application <br /> deadline is September b, 2002. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to approve the grant application <br /> in the amount of$100,000 for additional fields and a parldng lot at <br /> Heritage Park as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> It was noted that the Department of Public Works has $100,000 available <br /> for use as grant matching funds. <br />
