5
Board of Selectmen
Minutes
August 5, 2002
APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS:
Board of Assessors—Joint Interview and Appointment:
Board of Assessors Marcia King and Leslie Greig were present in joint
convention with the Board of Selectmen for the purpose of appointing a
member to the Board of Assessors. David Bailey, Director of Assessing
was in attendance.
It was noted that two candidates who had previously applied for the
position withdrew their respective applications. Heather Noyes, owner of
Noyes and Associates Real Estate Appraisal and Consulting was
recommended for appointment. Ms. Noyes is a noted member of the
Massachusetts Association of Assessing Officers.
Motion made by Selectman Green to appoint Heather Noyes as a
member of the Board of Assessors.
Motion seconded by Selectman Leveille.
VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0.
Roll Call Vote: Wayne,yes David,yes
Ken, yes Chuck,yes
John,yes
Marcia,yes Les,yes
Opposed,none
Department of Public Works—Town Hall Egress:
Greg Taylor, Director of Public Works discussed the egress of Town Hall
from Route 130 with members of the Board of Selectmen. To maintain
the character of the area, a driveway consisting of two nine foot lanes is
proposed 450 feet long with a new sidewalk. The driveway area would be
aligned with the travel area that exists now in the parkway in the rear of
Town Hall facility.
It was noted that the proposed Route 130 egress would not diminish the
number of parking spaces and maintains the grass area behind the Town
Hall building. Presently, there are 76 parking spaces and 3 handicap
spaces at Town Hall. Funds for the project would derive from the Town
of Mashpee road account. The project estimate is $20,000.
