7 <br /> i <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> September 23, 2002 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Request for A royal—Block Part : <br /> Robert Auvil, Trout Brook Road, Mashpee was present to request the <br /> Board approve a neighborhood block party on Saturday, October 5, 2002 <br /> with a rain date of Sunday, October 6, 2002. The neighborhood of <br /> Pickerel Cove would like to have the block party in the cul-de-sac at the <br /> end of Trout Brook Road. In order to have the party, it would be <br /> necessary to obtain permission to block the cul-de-sac. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to approve the Block Party <br /> request,of Pickerel Cove on October 5, 2002 from 1:00 p.m.to 6:00 <br /> p.m. with a rain date of October 6,2002 subject to the approval of the <br /> Police and lire Departments. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Green. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> Chamber of Commerce—Sign_Request: <br /> Ted Nadolny, Executive Director of the Mashpee Chamber of Commerce <br /> and a member of the Special Events Committee was present to request the <br /> Selectmen approve the placement of a Ladder Sign at the Veteran's <br /> Memorial Park. <br /> The sign, 7' tall would contain a gold-leafed headboard reading "Mashpee <br /> Community Events". There is no obligation to the Town for construction <br /> and materials. <br /> Several issues were discussed and it was agreed that the applicant would <br /> further review protocol for sign management, sign maintenance and cost <br /> issues with the Special Events Committee. In addition, Mr. Nadolny was <br /> requested to get input from the Mashpee VFW, and Design Review. <br />
