10 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> October 21, 2002 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Department of Public Works: (continued) <br /> DPW- Recommendation for Archaeological Survey Request for <br /> Proposals: <br /> Proposals for the archaeological investigation of the proposed access to <br /> Town Hall were submitted by two firms with extensive experience, <br /> including projects involving Native American cemeteries as well as a <br /> number of projects on Cape Cod. Both were approved to perform this <br /> type of work by the Massachusetts Historical Commission. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to accept the low bid of Public <br /> Archaeology Laboratory(PAL) of Pawtucket,Rhode Island in the <br /> amount of$9,517 to perform the archaeological survey in the location <br /> of the proposed access to Town Hall. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> In related Town Hall business, the issues of access and egress as provided <br /> by project engineers VHB were discussed.. A right-hand only turn on <br /> driveway#1 in front of the Town Hall facility was considered. <br /> DPW—InVectional/Engineering Services for Transfer Station: <br /> The existing contract with Woodard& Curran for the conduction of bi- <br /> monthly inspections at the Transfer Station and the performance of; <br /> engineering services is due to expire next month. The Town is required to <br /> perform inspections as a condition of the permit to operate the Transfer <br /> Station. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Leveille to approve the contract between <br /> the Town of Mashpee and Woodard& Curran; 4 bi-monthly <br /> inspections and engineering services for the sum of$7,260 for the <br /> remainder of FV03. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />
