Programs of
support include the Cape Cod Healthcare program for the under and un-
insured, wastewater treatment and the shellfish propagation program.
In other business, the Selectmen requested assistance from the Assembly
in an effort to expedite the location of the kidney dialysis center in
Mashpee Commons. The Falmouth Hospital is unable to accommodate
this type of facility. Without a Mashpee location, patients would have to
travel to New Bedford or South Yarmouth three times a week for
treatment. Approximately thirty area residents utilize the essential service.
The Cape Cod Commission is presently conducting a development of
regional impact (DRI)review of the project proposal to permit the project
before it can move forward.
